Microsoft’s Mac BU has released an update to MSN for Mac OS X. Microsoft’s Internet subscription service is now compatible with Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther,” according to the company.

MSN for Mac OS X provides users with an integrated way of accessing the Internet with a rich e-mail client with junk mail protection filters, contact management, parental controls, calendaring, download management, activity reports and more.

In addition to Panther support, the new release of MSN includes Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X, enabling MSN users to view WMP 9-based content.

Microsoft said that this release is the first through Microsoft’s AutoUpdate feature, which makes MSN users aware of the update and gives them the option to install the download.
